
Matthew is the Director of Music Ministries at historic Coral Gables Congregational Church where he conducts the Chancel Choir and Vocal Ensemble.
He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in choral conducting at the University of Miami, where he is the Senior Teaching Assistant. Prior to his studies at Miami, he taught high school choral music for eight years in Gilbert, Arizona.
An active professional ensemble singer, Matthew sings with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, where he serves as assistant conductor, the grammy-nominated ensemble Conspirare, and Seraphic Fire, a bold new ensemble in Miami specializing in early and newly-composed music. Matt was also a member of the Phoenix Bach Choir for eight seasons.
Also active as a solo singer, Matthew has performed with the American Bach Series, Miami Bach Society, Victoria Bach Festival and with the Master Chorale of South Florida.
Matt holds a B.M. in voice from Northern Arizona Unviersity and the M.M. in choral conducting from the Unviersity of Miami, is listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers", and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda.
Upcoming conducting engagements include work with the Kokopelli Choir in Canada, and upcoming solo engagements include a Schubet Mass in E@ with the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas.
